Volleyball Recap: St. Catherine's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

After a string of four wins, St. Catherine's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of the Catholic Crusaders by a score of 3-2. The Saints were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Crusaders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

St. Catherine's took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 16-25, 25-21, 23-25, 25-20, 18-16.

Paxton Raymond paced St. Catherine's offense, picking up 12 kills. Raymond got some help from Emmerson Croft and her 17 assists. Bailey Loving controlled things from the service line, finishing with seven aces.

St. Catherine's defeat dropped their record down to 14-13. As for Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-9 record this season.

As of now, neither St. Catherine's nor Catholic have any future games scheduled.
