St. Thomas More dropped down to 7-2 on Saturday, ending the team's four-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Maroa-Forsyth Trojans by a score of 2-1. The Sabers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

As for Maroa-Forsyth, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted against St. Thomas More since September 9, 2017.

Sydney Pottala was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had six digs and two aces.

St. Thomas More didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Watseka on the 16th. As for Maroa-Forsyth, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Tolono Unity on the 16th.
