Softball Recap: Chaska Takes a Loss

Chaska fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Waconia on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 14-11 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats. The Hawks just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

Laney Farm made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 5-for-6 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. She has been hot recently, having also posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Ashlyn Larson, who went 1-for-5 with one home run.

Chaska's loss dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Waconia, their win bumped their record up to 4-11.

Chaska and Waconia could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Minnesota Rankings. The Hawks will face off against Champlin Park at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank disadvantage (195 vs. 15). Meanwhile, Waconia (ranked 200th) will meet St. Louis Park (ranked 87th) at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
