Football Game Preview: Cisco Loboes vs. Stamford Bulldogs

For the first time this season, Cisco will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. After each having a week off, they and the Stamford Bulldogs will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Stamford will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Cisco extended their winning streak to four last Friday. The Loboes simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Frenship Memorial 39-6. The Loboes pushed the score to 39-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Panthers cut but never quite recovered from.

Meanwhile, Stamford didn't have too much trouble with Henrietta last Friday as they won 31-13.

Cisco better keep an eye on Mason Mueller. He was instrumental in Stamford's win, throwing for 260 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 80% of his passes, and also rushing for 72 yards. The dominant performance also gave Mueller a new career-high in passer rating (154.2). 105 of Mueller's passing yards were hauled in by Slayden Young.

One reason for the win was Stamford's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Kree McCright, Taegen Pimpton, and Wade Wright, who each picked up one sack apiece.

Stamford now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Cisco, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.
