Baseball Recap: Greater Johnstown's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

Greater Johnstown came into Tuesday's matchup having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against the Shanksville Stonycreek Vikings by a score of 7-2 on Tuesday.

Nykos Kobal was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Parker Cornelius was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs.

Greater Johnstown's victory bumped their record up to 3-13. As for Shanksville Stonycreek, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Greater Johnstown will face off against Tyrone at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Shanksville Stonycreek, they will square off against Turkeyfoot Valley Area at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Vikings are facing the Rams at the right time seeing as the Rams are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
