Volleyball Recap: Twin River Comes Up Short

After flying high against Madison last Thursday, Twin River came back down to earth. The Titans fell just short of the Dragons by a score of 2-1 on Thursday. The Titans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Dragons earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

The match was exciting from start to finish, as two sets needed extra rallies to gain a two-point lead. The final score came out to 25-18, 24-26, 26-24.

Despite the loss, Twin River saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Layney Matthes had 14 digs.

Twin River's defeat dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Madison, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-17.

Coincidentally, Twin River and Madison will both be playing Plainview the next time they take the court. The Dragons will host the Pirates at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Titans will play them later in the day, at 6:00 p.m.
