Volleyball Game Preview: Lone Peak Knights vs. Pleasant Grove Vikings

The Lone Peak Knights will head out on the road to face off against the Pleasant Grove Vikings at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Lone Peak will be strutting in after a win while Pleasant Grove will be coming in after a loss.

Lone Peak barely beat American Fork the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Knights were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Cavemen on Tuesday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Knights as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Lone Peak not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept American Fork between 18 and 20 points across their sets. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-20, 25-18.

Meanwhile, Pleasant Grove faced Skyridge in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Vikings lost 3-0 to the Falcons. The Vikings' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-9, 25-19.

Lone Peak's win bumped their record up to 18-5. As for Pleasant Grove, their loss dropped their record down to 11-11.

Lone Peak was able to grind out a solid victory over Pleasant Grove in their previous meeting two weeks ago, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
