Volleyball Game Preview: Gibbs Gladiators vs. Lemon Bay Manta Rays

The Gibbs Gladiators will take on the Lemon Bay Manta Rays at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Gibbs is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.

Gibbs is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They blew past Boca Ciega 3-0.

Gibbs not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Boca Ciega between 13 and 16 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-16, 25-14.

Lemon Bay not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since October 2nd (when they won 3-0). They put the hurt on Booker with a sharp 3-0 win.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Lemon Bay took every set by at least 17 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-8, 25-3, 25-4.

Gibbs' victory bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Lemon Bay, their win bumped their record up to 17-9.

Gibbs might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Lemon Bay in their previous meeting back in October of 2023. Can the Gladiators avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
