Football Game Preview: Carey Seahawks vs. Wantagh Warriors + Official Tickets

Carey hasn't had much luck against Wantagh recently, but that could start to change on Sunday. The Seahawks are taking a road trip to take on the Warriors at 2:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Carey is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They blew past Valley Stream South 36-8. Given the Seahawks' advantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while the Falcons are ranked 426th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Wantagh, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They blew past Clarke 38-14 on Saturday.

Carey better keep an eye on Luke Martini. He was instrumental in Wantagh's win, rushing for 283 yards and one score while picking up 15.7 yards per carry. Those 283 rushing yards gave Martini a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Joe Nicholson, who rushed for 114 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 15 carries.

Wantagh was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 429 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Wantagh is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for Carey, their record is now 7-2.

Carey lost to Wantagh on the road by a decisive 41-23 margin in their previous meeting back in October. Can the Seahawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
