Baseball Recap: Overfelt Takes a Loss

Overfelt dropped down to 11-12 on Wednesday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Del Mar Dons, falling 16-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Overfelt Royals have suffered since March 11, 2025.

Aaron Santana was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Sonny Romero, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

As for Del Mar, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 12-11. The result was nothing new for the Dons, who have now won nine matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

On Del Mar's side, Mason William made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out ten batters over 4.1 innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off eight hits. William has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with five runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those five runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Brandon Avery was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Kyle McClements was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

As of now, neither Overfelt nor Del Mar have any future games scheduled.
