Baseball Recap: Monroe Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

With a playoff win on the line, Monroe rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They beat the Archbishop McNicholas Rockets by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 6-4. The win was familiar territory for the Hornets, who have now won three matches in a row.

Monroe's victory bumped their record up to 16-8. As for Archbishop McNicholas, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 18-10.

Looking ahead, Monroe will venture away from home to face off against Chaminade Julienne Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Hornets 4.1, the Eagles 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned. Archbishop McNicholas does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
