Basketball Game Preview: Calallen Wildcats vs. Jones Trojans

Calallen hasn't had much luck against Jones recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Calallen Wildcats will square off against the Jones Trojans. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Calallen is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They enjoyed a cozy 45-27 victory over Hidalgo.

Meanwhile, Jones waltzed into their game on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 51-47 W against the Blackcats.

Jones pushed their record up to 13-9 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.4 points over those games. As for Calallen, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 20-14 record this season.

Calallen was dealt a bruising 74-40 defeat at the hands of Jones in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. Can Calallen avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
