Basketball Recap: Hendrickson Comes Up Short

Hendrickson lost against Pflugerville Connally back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Hendrickson Hawks took a 53-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pflugerville Connally Cougars. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 666th, while the Cougars are ranked 217th).

Pflugerville Connally's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Anthony Phagans, who went 6 for 10 on his way to 16 points. Christian Sanders was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to nine boards and four steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Hendrickson and nudges their season record down to 9-22. As for Pflugerville Connally, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 21-11.

Hendrickson didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 52-37 loss against East View on the 4th. Pflugerville Connally has also already played their next game, a 55-42 defeat against Weiss on the 4th.
