Basketball Recap: Avery Takes a Loss

Avery suffered their closest loss since January 9, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of the New Diana Eagles by a score of 48-46. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2021.

This is the second loss in a row for Avery and nudges their season record down to 11-11. As for New Diana, their victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-9.

Avery won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Savoy at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. As for New Diana, they will venture away from home to challenge Daingerfield at 7:30 p.m. on January 10th.
