Volleyball Recap: West Rowan Falcons vs. South Rowan Raiders
West Rowan lost against South Rowan back in August, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The West Rowan Falcons fell just short of the South Rowan Raiders by a score of 3-2. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
West Rowan took South Rowan into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking ten-point loss. After all that action, the final score was 23-25, 25-23, 28-26, 20-25, 15-5.
Leading South Rowan to victory were Raegan Shell and Campbell Withers. Shell had 11 digs and 25 assists, while Withers had 27 digs. Withers is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had four or more in the last 40 games she's played dating back to last season.
West Rowan's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-7. As for South Rowan, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 8-4 record.
West Rowan will challenge Lake Norman Charter at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Lake Norman Charter will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something West Rowan surely won't give up without a fight. As for South Rowan, they will take on West Cabarrus at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Considering South Rowan has lost three straight at home and West Cabarrus four straight on the road , this one might come down to who's more desperate to change their momentum.
