Softball Recap: Heath Bulldogs vs. Zanesville Blue Devils
After only one run in their last game, Heath made sure to put some runs up on the board against Zanesville on Tuesday. The Bulldogs' pitcher stepped up to hand the Blue Devils a 14-0 shutout. The Bulldogs' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Kylie Green made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Green was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Savannah Lawson was a standout: she went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Sydney Cottrell was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3.
Heath always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
