Basketball Game Preview: Traverse City Christian Sabres vs. Leland Comets

Traverse City Christian is 9-1 against Leland since March of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Traverse City Christian Sabres will challenge the Leland Comets at 7:00 p.m. Traverse City Christian will be looking to extend their current 14-game winning streak.

Traverse City Christian is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed past Buckley to the tune of 88-61 on Wednesday. Given the Sabres' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 137th in Michigan, while the Bears are ranked 399th in Michigan), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Leland hadn't done well against St. Mary recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Leland managed a 36-32 win over St. Mary. Winning may never get old, but the Comets sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Leland's victory bumped their record up to 4-18. As for Traverse City Christian, their win bumped their record up to 21-2.

Traverse City Christian didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Leland in their previous meeting two weeks ago, but they still walked away with a 46-40 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Traverse City Christian since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
