Basketball Game Preview: Duval Charter Panthers vs. Impact Christian Academy Lions

Duval Charter hasn't had much luck against Impact Christian Academy recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Duval Charter Panthers face off against the Impact Christian Academy Lions at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Duval Charter is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 12th straight game dating back to last season on Saturday. They had to suffer through a 45-8 loss at the hands of Harvest Community.

Meanwhile, Impact Christian Academy came up short against Eagle's View on Thursday and fell 37-26. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 321st, while the Warriors are ranked 147th).

Duval Charter will need focus on slowing down Lavin Savage, one of several Impact Christian Academy players who made an impact when they last played. She posted 11 points in addition to five rebounds and five steals. Savage has been hot for a while, having posted four or more steals the last 29 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ta?Karie Powell, who had seven points and nine rebounds.

Duval Charter's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Impact Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-5.

Duval Charter was dealt a bruising 52-21 defeat at the hands of Impact Christian Academy when the teams last played back in November. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Savage, who went 6 of 15 on her way to 16 points along with seven assists and seven boards.
