Pierce put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 31-20 win over the Paradise Bobcats. The Bears have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bobcats, too.

Among those leading the charge was Austin Jorge, who rushed for 56 yards and three scores. Those three rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Pierce also got a significant boost from Nate Macintosh, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 87 yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Pierce was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 240 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Paradise only rushed for 49.

Another reason for the win was Pierce's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Rodrigo Velazquez, Quin Stephens, and Noah Sucevich, who each picked up one sack apiece. Another thorn in Paradise's side was Velazquez, who picked up a sack and made nine total tackles.

Despite the loss, Paradise still got an impressive performance from Evan Higgs, who picked up 115 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for 49 yards.

Pierce's record now sits at 8-0. As for Paradise, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.

Looking ahead, Pierce will face off against Durham at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Paradise, they will challenge Winters at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors' defense has only allowed eight points per game this season, so the Bobcats' offense will have their work cut out for them.
