Volleyball Recap: Union County Comes Up Short

Union County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Washburn Pirates. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in August.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Union County sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-17, 15-25, 25-11.

Union County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Washburn, their win was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 22-7.

Coming up, Union County will venture away from home to square off against Karns at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Washburn, they will host Cosby at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
