Volleyball Recap: Seven Lakes Spartans vs. Fulshear Chargers

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Seven Lakes couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell 3-1 to the Fulshear Chargers on Monday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Spartans of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August.

While Seven Lakes ultimately came up short, they really made Fulshear work, particularly in the first set. The final score came out to 29-27, 24-26, 25-13, 25-17.

Lily Lott paced Seven Lakes' offense, picking up 14 kills. Lott got some help from Kate Avery Kuehn and her 35 assists. Avery Kuehn also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Sofia Deuel, racking up two apiece.

Fulshear can attribute much of their success to Addison Lednicky, who had 17 digs.

Seven Lakes' loss dropped their record down to 29-11. As for Fulshear, they pushed their record up to 35-6 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home.

Seven Lakes does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Fulshear, they will challenge Bellaire on Thursday. Bellaire will roll in looking for their 16th straight victory, something Fulshear surely won't give up without a fight.
