Baseball Game Preview: Quitman Bulldogs vs. Edgewood Bulldogs

Quitman hasn't had much luck against Edgewood recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. Quitman will challenge Edgewood at 7:00 p.m. Quitman has given up an average of 7.3 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Quitman's last matchup with Grand Saline could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Friday. The Bulldogs came up short against the Indians, falling 11-1. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since March 22, 2016, but that streak is no more.

Quitman saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Logan Davis, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Edgewood had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. Everything went their way against the Wolves as they made off with a 14-5 victory. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by seven runs or more this season.

Edgewood's win bumped their record up to 18-8. As for Quitman, their loss dropped their record down to 6-17-1.

Quitman couldn't quite get it done against Edgewood in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 as they fell 6-3. Can Quitman avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
