Softball Game Preview: Utica Eisenhower Eagles vs. Chippewa Valley Big Reds

The Utica Eisenhower Eagles will head out on the road to take on the Chippewa Valley Big Reds at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

On Tuesday, Utica Eisenhower came up short against Romeo and fell 6-3. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Dakota hit Chippewa Valley with a five-run third inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Big Reds came up short against the Cougars, falling 13-3.

Cameron Metcalfe was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and two doubles.

Chippewa Valley now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Utica Eisenhower, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Utica Eisenhower couldn't quite get it done against Chippewa Valley when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 6-1. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
