The Fernandina Beach Pirates were the 27-15 winner over the Palatka Panthers when they last played one another back in October of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Fernandina Beach fell 29-16 to Palatka on Friday. Fernandina Beach has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Palatka was led to victory by Cartaveon Valentine and Tommy Offord. Valentine gained 135 total yards and two touchdowns, while Offord rushed for 125 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.4 yards per carry.

Fernandina Beach's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Palatka, their victory was their sixth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 7-1.

Fernandina Beach will take on Baker County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Baker County presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Fernandina Beach in Florida (Baker County is ranked 147th, while Fernandina Beach is ranked 309th). As for Palatka, they will head out on the road to face off against Bradford at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Bradford is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
