Baseball Recap: St. Joseph Catholic Comes Up Short

St. Joseph Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They fell 5-1 to the Presbyterian Christian Bobcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bobcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-1 last Tuesday.

Chad Davidson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jackson Winans made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double. That triple was his first of the season.

St. Joseph Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Presbyterian Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-10 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Presbyterian Christian beat St. Joseph Catholic by a score of 10-0 later that day.
