Baseball Recap: Ashland Comes Up Short

Ashland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Ladysmith Lumberjacks. The Oredockers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lumberjacks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Ashland's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Ladysmith, their win ended a ten-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-15.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Ashland beat the Lumberjacks by a score of 5-4 later that day.
