It'll be a Battle of the Birds when Issaquah Eagles duke it out with Woodinville Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Issaquah's pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so Woodinville's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
On Monday, Issaquah earned a 6-2 victory over Redmond. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Tyler Miller spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on nine hits and racked up eight Ks. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Charlie Lydum, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Mason Uchimura, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Woodinville never got on the board in their matchup on Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Skyline on Monday. They put the hurt on the Spartans with a sharp 10-4 victory. The Falcons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by six runs or more this season.
Mason Dias looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single hit in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Woodinville got a big performance out of Connor Hennessy, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Woodinville is undefeated when Hennessy posts two or more runs, but 2-5 otherwise. Noah Vaiphei also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Woodinville hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Skyline struck out seven times.
Woodinville pushed their record up to 5-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Issaquah, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
