Highland Regional has gone 6-1 against Cumberland recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Tartans will venture away from home to take on the Colts at 4:00 p.m. Highland Regional is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Highland Regional turned things around against Camden on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 23-3 victory. The Tartans' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Soledad Vaquez-Milstein made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Those hits marked the first that she allowed this season. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Brianna Grasso was a standout: she got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Mya Guzzo, who scored four runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Highland Regional always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .816. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Cumberland came up short against Gloucester County Tech on Tuesday, falling 17-3. The Colts have struggled against Gloucester County Tech recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meeting.

The win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-4. As for Cumberland, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Everything went Highland Regional's way against Cumberland in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Highland Regional made off with a 13-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tartans since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
