Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Haley Wagoner and Gracyn Gilliard Lead Center Grove to Victory

Center Grove won the last time they faced Fishers and things went their way on Saturday too. The Trojans walked away with a 47-38 victory over the Tigers. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Trojans.

Center Grove was led to victory by Gracyn Gilliard and Haley Wagoner. Gilliard went 5-for-10 to rack up 22 points and three steals, while Wagoner dropped a double-double with ten points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Wagoner a new career-high in assists (three). Ella Sprong was another key player, putting up six points.

Fishers' loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Makayla Triplett, who posted seven points and six boards. Another player making a difference was Natalie Thomas, who shot 50% from the field en route to 13 points and five rebounds.

Center Grove's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Fishers, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Center Grove wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 49-42 victory against Indian Creek on the 18th. As for Fishers, they have also already played their next contest, a 52-19 win against Anderson on the 12th.
