Basketball Recap: Dundalk Owls vs. Kenwood Bluebirds

Dundalk had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Kenwood Bluebirds by a score of 46-44. If the Owls were looking for revenge after losing 52-41 to the Bluebirds when the teams met back in January, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Several Owls players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Damari Moore, who posted seven points along with 11 boards and six steals. Another player making a difference was Ryan Akins, who had 13 points.

Kenwood was led to victory by Tyre Robinson-Chase and Antonio Davis. Robinson-Chase put up eight points in addition to 12 rebounds and three blocks, while Davis earned ten points and five steals. What's more, Davis posted four assists, the most he's had since back in January. The team also got some help courtesy of Maurice Evans, who scored six points along with eight steals and seven boards.

Looking ahead, Dundalk will face off against SEED at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for Kenwood, they will head out on the road to square off against Northeast at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
