Baseball Game Preview: Clinton Arrows vs. Germantown Mavericks

The Clinton Arrows will head out to challenge the Germantown Mavericks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Clinton's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Germantown's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Last Wednesday, Clinton beat Grenada 7-4.

Phillip Burchfield looked comfortable as he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Josef Walker, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4. Stone Crain was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Germantown fell victim to East Union and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Urchins.

Germantown now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Clinton, their record is now 10-4.

Clinton might still be hurting after the 10-0 loss they got from Germantown in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can Clinton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
