Softball Game Preview: Buckeye Local Panthers vs. Catholic Central Crusaders

The Buckeye Local Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Catholic Central Crusaders at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Buckeye Local managed to slip by Brooke the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Panthers came up short against the Bruins on Monday, falling 13-2. The Panthers' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Catholic Central couldn't beat Toronto on Monday even though they stacked five runs on them in the fourth inning. The Crusaders lost 19-8 to the Red Knights.

Maddie McEndree was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Mary Fink also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Catholic Central's defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Buckeye Local, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.

Buckeye Local got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in April of 2025 against Catholic Central by a conclusive 14-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
