Volleyball Recap: Pioneer Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Win

Pioneer came tearing into Tuesday's contest with five straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Gunderson Grizzlies as they made off with a 3-0 victory. The Mustangs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Grizzlies, too.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Pioneer was: they took every set by at least ten points. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-15, 25-12.

Pioneer was led to victory by Ella Rhyasen and Eva Rhyasen. Ella had 55 assists and eight digs, while Eva had 29 assists and five aces. Ella is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 14 or more in each of the last five games she's played.

They weren't the only good servers: Pioneer was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces in six consecutive matches.

Pioneer now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Gunderson, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season.
