Football Recap: Reed-Custer Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Reed-Custer lost against Manteno back in October of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Comets took a 26-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers. Despite 57 more yards than the Panthers, the Comets couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Despite the loss, Reed-Custer still got an impressive performance from Tristan Randall, who rushed for 95 yards, and also threw for 97 yards and one TD.

Tyler Buehler was a one-man wrecking crew For Manteno. as he rushed for 91 yards on only 12 carries, and also threw for 51 yards and one touchdown.

Reed-Custer suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 2-2. As for Manteno, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Reed-Custer will venture away from home to face off against Coal City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Coalers' defense has only allowed 12.8 points per game this season, so the Comets' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Manteno, they will face off against Wilmington at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers will need to watch out since the Wildcats have now posted at least 31 points in their last three contests.
