Basketball Game Preview: Red Springs Red Devils vs. St. Pauls Bulldogs

Red Springs hasn't had much luck against St. Pauls recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Red Springs Red Devils will be playing in front of their home fans against the St. Pauls Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m.

Red Springs lost 49-25 to Fairmont on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Red Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 480th, while the Golden Tornadoes are ranked 13th).

Meanwhile, St. Pauls humbled West Bladen with a 68-20 victory. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 22 points or more this season.

St. Pauls' win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points per game. As for Red Springs, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-10.

Red Springs took a serious blow against St. Pauls when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 56-22. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Red Springs was down 32-4.
