Volleyball Recap: Triton Trojans vs. Whitko Wildcats

Triton entered their tilt with Whitko on Saturday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Whitko Wildcats. For the Trojans, this counts as revenge for the 2-0 defeat the Wildcats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2022.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Triton who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 23-25, 15-11.

Triton can attribute much of their success to Allie Westafer, who had five aces and 17 assists. Westafer is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted eight or more in the last 13 games she's played dating back to last season.

Triton will play host again on Saturday to welcome Culver Community, where the match is scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Culver Community will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Triton surely won't give up without a fight. As for Whitko, they will welcome Glenn at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
