Softball Recap: Chapman Panthers vs. Woodruff Wolverines
After losing to Woodruff the last time they met, Chapman decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Panthers came out on top against the Wolverines by a score of 6-2 on Friday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Panthers as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Alexis Floyd was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Sophie Whitley was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Krisylyn Wilder, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.
Chapman's win bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Woodruff, with the defeat, they broke their seven-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-7.
Coming up, Chapman will challenge Broome at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Woodruff, they will square off against Union County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
