Baseball Recap: Santa Fe Christian Takes a Loss

Santa Fe Christian lost against Poway back in April of 2021, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Santa Fe Christian took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Poway.

Santa Fe Christian got a good showing from Kylan Brunn, who pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Brunn has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jackson Noonan was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run. Riley Nelson also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Santa Fe Christian's record is now 5-4. As for Poway, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 2-4 record.

Coming up, Santa Fe Christian will take on Steele Canyon in a tournament on Monday. The last four games Steele Canyon has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. We've got a battle between Titans coming up. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Poway 3.5, Eastlake 2.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
