Volleyball Recap: Burnet Extends Home Winning Streak to Five

Burnet had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Copperas Cove on Tuesday. The Bulldogs were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Bulldawgs. The Bulldogs not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since August 12th (when they won 3-0).

While Burnet won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-17, 25-23.

Burnet pushed their record up to 7-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Copperas Cove, their loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 4-5.

Coming up, Burnet will be taking part in a tournament against Killeen at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. After both having extra time off, Copperas Cove and Chaparral will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
