Recap: Wray Eagles vs. Strasburg Indians

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Wray Eagles can now relate to. They were just a hair shy of victory on Saturday and fell 28-27 to Strasburg. Wray's defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

When it comes to explaining why Wray lost, one person who can't be blamed is Samuel Meisner. Despite the final result, he rushed for 171 yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Casey Midcap, who rushed for 85 yards and two touchdowns.

Strasburg's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Landen Martin, who threw for 217 yards and two touchdowns on only 19 passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Paul Smith was another key contributor, gaining 102 total yards and two touchdowns.

Wray's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Strasburg, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 10-2.

Wray does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Strasburg will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Limon at 12:00 p.m. on November 25th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Limon is ranked 22nd, while Strasburg is ranked 47th).
