Basketball Game Preview: Peyton Panthers vs. Holly Wildcats

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Panthers duke it out with the Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Peyton has five straight victories, Holly has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Peyton is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Harrison: they outscored them in every quarter. Peyton blew past Harrison 41-16 on Monday.

Peyton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sammie Nickell, who dropped a double-double with ten points and ten boards. Nickell is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down ten or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Scarlett Clark, who posted seven points and three steals.

Peyton was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in March of 2024.

Meanwhile, Holly ended up a good deal behind South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett] on Saturday and lost 45-28.

Peyton now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Holly, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-10.

Peyton beat Holly 40-30 when the teams last played back in February of 2021. Will Peyton repeat their success, or does Holly have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
