Soccer Recap: Lennard Comes Up Short

Lennard was the 4-3 winner over Sumner when they last played one another back in November of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Lennard Longhorns lost 3-0 to the Sumner Stingrays on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Longhorns can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 472nd, while the Stingrays are ranked 166th).

Lennard is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6-2. As for Sumner, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lennard will face off against Middleton at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Lennard is facing Middleton at the right time seeing as Middleton is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Sumner, they will square off against Durant at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Durant is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.9 goals per game this season.
