Softball Recap: Brevard Beats T.C. Roberson for Their Fifth Straight Victory

Brevard put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past the T.C. Roberson Rams 7-0. The seven-run effort marked the Blue Devils' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Emma Bailey made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Claire Wilson, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-4. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024. Ava Rogers also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Brevard hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most three strikeouts every time they've taken the field this season.

Brevard pushed their record up to 5-0 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.9 runs on average over those games. As for T.C. Roberson, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brevard will head out to face off against North Henderson at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Brevard's pitching crew has only allowed one run per game this season, so North Henderson's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for T.C. Roberson, they will venture away from home to square off against North Buncombe at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
