Basketball Recap: Jocilynne Sweeney's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Lake Worth over Inlet Grove

Lake Worth lost against Inlet Grove back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Lake Worth Trojans came up short against the Inlet Grove Hurricanes, falling 49-24. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 495th, while the Hurricanes are ranked 194th).

Lake Worth's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jocilynne Sweeney, who posted eight points and four steals. Sweeney is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyona Razz-Wilkins, who scored six points and five boards.

Lake Worth has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Inlet Grove, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-1.

Lake Worth has already played their next contest, a 38-31 win against Leonard on the 23rd. Inlet Grove has also already played their next game (against Royal Palm Beach), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
