Soccer Game Preview: Vidor vs. Hardin-Jefferson

The Vidor Pirates will square off against the Hardin-Jefferson Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Vidor has given up an average of 4.5 goals per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week.

Friday just wasn't the day for Vidor's offense. They lost 8-0 to Lumberton on Friday. That's two games in a row now that the Pirates have lost by exactly eight goals.

Meanwhile, Hardin-Jefferson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Little Cypress-Mauriceville.

This is the second loss in a row for Vidor and nudges their season record down to 4-16-1. As for Hardin-Jefferson, their loss dropped their record down to 4-17.

Everything went Vidor's way against Hardin-Jefferson in their previous meeting back in February, as Vidor made off with a 4-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Vidor since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
