Softball Recap: Diman RVT's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

It was a good run, but Diman RVT unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Durfee Hilltoppers. The Bengals were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Hilltoppers earlier this season, when they won 19-7.

Danielle Mello made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Diman RVT's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Durfee, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Diman RVT will face off against Tri-County RVT at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars' pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so the Bengals' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Durfee, they will square off against New Bedford at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. The Hilltoppers will need to watch out since the Whalers have now posted at least ten runs in their last three games.
