Baseball Recap: Carson Triumphs

After only one run in their last game, Carson made sure to put some runs up on the board against Lake Norman Charter on Friday. Carson walked away with a 14-9 win over Lake Norman Charter. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last seven times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Cameron Williamson was a standout: he went 1-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayven Parks, who scored three runs while going 3-for-3.

Williamson wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Carson kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's a new trend for Carson: they were averaging 5.1 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 9.4.

The victory got Carson back to even at 7-7. As for Lake Norman Charter, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-3.

Coming up, Carson will head out to take on Central Cabarrus at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lake Norman Charter, they will welcome West Rowan at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. West Rowan's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Lake Norman Charter's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
