Volleyball Recap: Peru Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

Peru hadn't done well against Northwestern recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Peru came out on top against Northwestern by a score of 3-1. The win was nothing new for Peru as they're now sitting on five straight.

Peru had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-16, 25-23, 25-14.

Leading Peru to victory were Lilly Steele and Bailee Kintner. Steele had 20 digs, while Kintner had 12 digs and one assist. That's the most digs Steele has posted over her last ten contests.

Peru was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in three consecutive matchups.

Peru's victory bumped their record up to 15-9. As for Northwestern, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-13.

Peru wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-2 loss against North Miami on the 25th. As for Northwestern, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Rochester on the 25th.
