On Thursday, Northwestern Area made easy work of Wolsey-Wessington and carried off a 3-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Warbirds: they've now won three in a row.

Northwestern Area's got stronger as the match went on, holding Wolsey-Wessington to fewer and fewer points set over set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-17, 25-14.

Meanwhile, Brandon Valley unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell 3-1 to Harrisburg on Thursday. The defeat continues a trend for the Lynx in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost seven in a row.

Brandon Valley started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-12, 25-22, 25-15.
