Baseball Recap: Chaney Comes Up Short

If Chaney was riding high fresh off their 10-3 takedown of Southern on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cowboys fell just short of the Liberty Leopards by a score of 4-3 on Monday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cowboys of the 18-7 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2023.

Chaney's defeat dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Liberty, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-16.

Looking ahead, Chaney will take on Leetonia at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bears have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.06 runs per game on average), something the Cowboys will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Liberty, they will face off against Cardinal Mooney at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
